“ A cheap and delicious restaurant Run by a mom and dad! A famous restaurant loved by locals ”

- 山達磨(やまだるま) -

“ This restaurant is located in front of Ohara Station. There are table seats and a counter. It is run by the husband and wife. As you'd expect from a restaurant, they have a lineup of ramen, udon, soba, and rice dishes. I was also attracted by the horse mackerel namero, but since it was lunchtime I went for the horse mackerel fried set meal. The horse mackerel fries are small, fried open rather than in three pieces. There is no fishy smell and they are surprisingly juicy, making them a great choice for rice. 700 yen is a bargain, as it comes with lightly pickled vegetables, potato salad with mustard, and miso soup. I sensed this restaurant is loved by many locals. ”

“ A local set meal restaurant located right in front of Ohara Station. The menu doesn't have a huge selection, so if you're traveling with children, it's best to check the menu first. I ordered the namero set meal and the motsuni (offal stew) as a single dish. The namero is mixed with spring onions that give it a nice texture and goes really well with white rice! A small side dish is included, but the portion was a little small for me, so I'm glad I ordered the motsuni. The motsuni was also well-seasoned and delicious. As it's located inside a rotary, it's a good idea to check where you can park beforehand. ”

“ I entered the restaurant without realizing that it closed early due to the Obon festival, but the staff didn't show any annoyance and instead apologized for being early today. Thank you very much. The freshly fried horse mackerel was crispy and delicious. The prices were reasonable, too. The horse mackerel namero was seasoned just right. It's a very simple, nice restaurant. ”

“ The name "Ekimae Shokudo" (station front restaurant) is a perfect fit for this restaurant. It's a local restaurant that doesn't cater to tourists. It has an unpretentious feel and the flavors make you feel like this is good enough. It gives you the comfort of home. It's a restaurant I'd love to have near my house. ”

“ Since there were not many trains running, we decided to just have one drink before our time was up. The atmosphere and food were perfect! The namero and stewed offal were delicious. I was hungry, so I ate it all before I could take any photos... ”
